JKA Castle Hill Robin Nicholson's First Official Visit to JKA Campsie
JKA Campsie was honoured to welcome JKA Castle Hill Dojo Head Robin Nicholson Sensei to the dojo on Saturday, 15th August, for a very special training session.
For our Head Instructor, David Sensei, Robin Sensei is much more than a senior instructor. He is David’s instructor, mentor, and a highly respected teacher who has played an important role in his ongoing development in JKA Shotokan Karate. Their relationship reflects the importance of learning, guidance, and passing knowledge from one generation of instructors to the next.
While David Sensei was away in Brisbane for grading, Robin Sensei generously stepped in to look after the JKA Campsie dojo. He welcomed our students and taught the class with the same care, commitment, and pride that he brings to his own dojo at JKA Castle Hill. It was a wonderful example of the spirit and unity that exists within our JKA community.
For our students, having the opportunity to train under Robin Sensei was particularly meaningful. They experienced his technical knowledge, attention to detail, and encouraging teaching style across kihon, kata, and kumite, while also getting to know the instructor and mentor who has supported David Sensei throughout his own Karate journey.
More importantly, the evening was a reminder that although our dojos may be spread across different suburbs, we are all part of one big Sydney JKA family.
From Campsie to Castle Hill and across the many JKA dojos throughout Sydney, we share the same passion for Shotokan Karate, the same traditions, and the same commitment to helping one another grow. Whether we are training in our own dojo or visiting another, we are welcomed as part of the same Karate family.
We are extremely grateful to Robin Sensei for taking the time to train with and look after our Campsie students, and for the friendship, guidance, and support he continues to show David Sensei and our dojo.
It was a memorable evening of training, connection, and JKA spirit.
