Authentic JKA Shotokan Karate is coming to Ryde

JKA in Sydney is excited to announce the opening of our newest location in Ryde in February 2027.


The new Ryde dojo will provide authentic Japan Karate Association (JKA) Shotokan Karate training for children, teenagers and adults in the local community.

Whether you are completely new to Karate, wanting to cross train or an experienced practitioner looking for traditional JKA training, everyone is welcome.

Traditional JKA Shotokan Karate

JKA Sydney is a branch of the Japan Karate Association of Australia, with established dojos in Castle Hill, Rozelle and Campsie.

Under the legacy of Takaatsu Nishimura Shihan, we are recognised and authorised by the Japan Karate Association (JKA) in Tokyo, Japan to teach traditional JKA Shotokan Karate.

Our training focuses on the traditional principles of Kihon (basics), Kata (forms) and Kumite (sparring), while developing discipline, confidence, fitness, coordination and respect.


Karate for Children and Adults

The new Ryde dojo will offer training suitable for a range of ages and experience levels.

Children
Develop confidence, discipline, coordination and respect in a structured martial arts environment.

Teenagers
Build fitness, focus and self-discipline while learning traditional Shotokan Karate.

Adults
Improve fitness, technique and mental focus while studying authentic JKA Karate.

Beginners Welcome
No previous martial arts experience is required. Beginners will be introduced to the fundamentals step by step.
