Advanced Karate | 3rd Kyu & Above

The JKA Campsie Advanced class is for dedicated students graded 3rd Kyu and above who are ready to take their karate to a higher level.



At this stage, training goes beyond simply learning techniques. Students are expected to develop a deeper understanding of timing, distance, power, speed, precision and application, while continuing to refine the fundamentals that form the foundation of Shotokan Karate.

The JKA 3rd Kyu grading is a significant milestone in a student’s karate journey, representing a higher level of skill, understanding and commitment. Students are expected to demonstrate strong and precise techniques with improved speed, power, control and fluidity. Greater emphasis is placed on timing, distance, balance, focus and the practical application of karate techniques, as well as confident and accurate performance of kata. Achieving 3rd Kyu reflects a student’s dedication, perseverance and continued development, while preparing them for the advanced training and challenges of the higher Kyu grades.
