Profile:

Joeceph began his Karate training in Year 5 in 2007 through his instructor/father Joel Narvaez and has dedicated himself to the study and practice of traditional JKA Shotokan Karate.

Throughout his Karate journey, Joeceph has played an important role in the Campsie Karate community. Alongside his father he helped operate the Campsie dojo until 2025, contributing his time and dedication to supporting students and maintaining a place where traditional Karate could be taught and practiced.

Following the closure of Campsie dojo in 2025, Sensei Joeceph continued his martial arts journey by joining the newly established JKA Campsie dojo as both an instructor and fellow student. Under the guidance of JKA Australia and Sensei David Yeomans he continues to develop his Karate, share his experience, and contribute to the ongoing growth of JKA Shotokan Karate in the community.

Holding the rank of JKA 2nd Dan (Nidan) and inspired by his favourite JKA instructor Naka Tatsuya Sensei, Joeceph continues to pursue technical improvement and a deeper understanding of Shotokan Karate. His approach reflects the JKA philosophy of lifelong learning where every practitioner, regardless of rank, continues to refine their skills and knowledge.

Through his years of training and teaching, Sensei Joeceph remains committed to preserving the traditions of JKA Shotokan Karate while supporting the next generation of Karate students.

Joeceph is a qualified JKA Instructor, holds a current First Aid certificate, holds a Bachelor of Education and is approved to work with children in Australia under the Working With Children Check (WWCC).
